about
I am a recent graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, where I double majored in Hispanic Studies and Secondary Education. I volunteered for two years at the IWU Language School for Kids, a Saturday school that offers language classes to children in the nearby communities. I also tutored Spanish to college students through the Language Resource Center at IWU.
My experiences abroad include studying in Mexico, where I interned as a student teacher at the John F. Kennedy American School of Querétaro. I also spent a semester in Santiago, Chile, studying the education system in both urban and rural settings.
During my time in Madrid, I look forward to learning more about the Spanish culture, which will ultimately provide me with relevant cultural examples that I can weave into my classroom when I teach in the U.S. I will also continue expanding my knowledge of the Spanish language, something I am always excited about!
The website I've created will allow friends and family to keep up with me while I am away. My blog posts will be accessible both through the home page, as well as under the "blog" tab.
Enjoy!
